Shenzhen-Hong Kong Disability Cooperation Update: A Visit to Bao'an District Comprehensive Disability Service Base

CY Yu, Secretary-General of the The Culture, Sports, Tourism, Education and Technology Association （CSTET），together with Ban Youhong, General Manager of Yangcheng Art, were invited to visit the Bao'an District Comprehensive Disability Service Base.
Accompanied by Tian Zhuang, Chairman of the Bao'an District Disabled Persons' Federation, and their team, we toured the training spaces for calligraphy, oil painting, Su embroidery, and baking. We gained an in-depth understanding of the learning and creative processes of the students with disabilities, and witnessed their real growth and strength within the skills training and employment support system.
These works are not just artistic expressions but also manifestations of vitality, deeply moving all who saw them.
During the exchange and discussion, both sides explored the following directions:
✨ Leveraging the 2026 APEC Summit and Greater Bay Area development as opportunities to promote the exhibition and artworks by persons with disabilities, exploring live-streaming sales and Shenzhen-Hong Kong joint exhibition and sales models
✨ Establishing a more complete "training – creation – employment mechanism
✨ Exploring the possibility of involving disability perspectives in urban cultural promotion, such as forming a disability tourism advocacy group to amplify authentic voices
The Hong Kong Culture, Sports, Tourism, Education and Technology Association will continue to play its role as a platform connecting "Culture × Education × Technology," linking resources and building bridges to promote cross-regional and cross-sector collaborations. Our goal is to make disability support not just assistance, but a long-term, co-constructed ecosystem.
